A quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) is an FDA approved analysis which involves recording and measuring digital EEG signals (brain waves). It is an excellent assessment tool to help identify regions of the brain that are not working properly – either dysfunctioning or dysregulating. This is a noninvasive way to identify the source of maladaptive symptoms.
19 electrode sensors are placed on the scalp and one sensor is used for grounding. The electrical activity is displayed on a computer in the form or brainwaves and then analyzed to see the connectivity between brain networks (coherence) and the speed of information processed (phase). This data helps determine the best neurofeedback protocols. It is an excellent way to see pre-test and post-test results.
